Shanghai, Lin-gang join forces to develop industry-education area

Shanghai University of Electric Power, Lingang Group and seven other units were selected as the first batch of industry-education integration bases in the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone on Nov 16.

The bases will demonstrate and lead the integration of industry and education in the area.

At the ceremony, a coordinated promotion plan for the municipal and Lin-gang governments to build the national industry-education integration pilot core area in Lin-gang was released.

A series of university-business cooperation projects and strategic cooperation agreements were also signed at the event.

In addition, building work officially got underway on the industry-education integration center at Shanghai Dianji University. With an investment of 143 million yuan ($22.4 million), its building area will eventually cover about 20,000 square meters. After completion, it will be used for education, training, industrial service, and research, becoming vital to the development of the core area of industry-education integration in Lin-gang Special Area.
