Service providers to cooperate with Lin-gang Special Area
The Shanghai Services Federation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone on a series of service sector projects on Oct 13.
The federation will help relevant companies list themselves on the STAR Market, known informally as the science and technology innovation board, according to Chen Zhenhong, the federation's executive vice chairman.
Chen said that Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Shanghai established a Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Services Federation on Sept 25 to accelerate YRD integration.
He expressed hope that such cooperation between Lin-gang and the Yangtze River Delta Services Federation would attract more enterprises to Lin-gang.
Lin-gang has attached great importance to the development of the service sector, particularly in six major fields — new international trade, cross-border finance, function shipping, professional services, information services, and sports and tourism services, said Zhu Zhisong, executive deputy director of the Lin-gang Special Area Administration.
From January to June this year, fixed asset investment in the tertiary industry in Lin-gang was valued at 15.20 billion yuan ($2.26 billion), an increase of 9.5 percent over the same period last year and accounting for 64 percent of all fixed asset investment in the area.
Agreements for six industrial projects involving modern logistics, legal services, human resources, and information technology to be carried out in the Lin-gang Special Area were signed at the signing ceremony. The Lin-gang service center of the Shanghai Services Federation also signed agreements with 14 member companies.
