Lin-gang Special Area releases 12 measures for S&T innovation
The Lin-gang Special Area implemented 12 measures to accelerate science and technology (S&T) innovation capacity on July 10.
These measures, which will be effective for five years, are aimed at advancing innovation capacity, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship development, and creating a sound ecological environment for innovation.
In terms of innovation capacity, the Lin-gang Special Area will specifically focus on independent innovation capacity, new research and development (R&D) institutions, the commercialization of S&T achievements and awarding enterprises which obtain S&T prizes. For instance, academician workstations and post-doctoral research centers in the Lin-gang Special Area will receive subsidies of up to 1 million yuan ($143,000) and 0.5 million yuan respectively within three years.
With regard to innovation and entrepreneurship development, Lin-gang will specifically support S&T start-ups, small and micro businesses, high-tech enterprises, high-quality programs and innovation and entrepreneurship teams.
In addition, Lin-gang will support intellectual property applications and international collaborative innovation, establish S&T innovation service systems and create a conducive atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship. Enterprises, scientific research institutions and other relevant institutions will be encouraged to set up overseas technology transfer centers, overseas R&D centers and overseas innovation centers. These institutions in the Lin-gang Special Area will receive subsidies of up to two million yuan within three years.
